Leon Balogun’s goal keeps QPR top of Championship

Leon Balogun, a Super Eagles defender, headed in the game-winning goal as Queens Park Rangers defeated Wigan Athletic 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

In the 12th minute, Sam Field opened the scoring for QPR with a crisp left-footed volley from Stefan Johansen’s left-wing corner.

Nathan Broadhead’s then equalised for Wigan Athletic 10 minutes later.

Balogun powered home the winning goal from a corner.

It was the centre-back’s first goal for QPR since he arrived the London club in August.

Rangers’ victory was their fifth in their last six matches.
