Champions League: Osimhen set to miss Napoli’s clash against Ajax

Victor Osimhen's transfer to Napoli under investigation over suspected fraud

Victor Osimhen, Napoli’s striker, will miss Tuesday’s Champions League match against Ajax.

Osimhen has been out since September 7, when he suffered a hamstring injury in a 4-1 win over Liverpool.

The injury was supposed to rule him out of action for 4-6 weeks.

There were earlier reports that the former Lille man would be available for selection when Napoli square off against, albeit he could make only a cameo appearance.

Also, Osimhen returned to personalized training last week, fuelling talks that he could return soon.

However, the Nigerian striker may have to wait till next weekend before he can make his comeback.

According to Napoli Magazine, Osimhen is very close to full recovery, but considering Giovanni Simeone and Giacomo Raspadori’s form, they are in no haste to throw the Nigerian striker into the thick of the action.

Nonetheless, Osimhen would likely make his return at Cremonese on Saturday.
