Davido Bags International Award Days After Losing Son

Nigerian singer Davido, who is now grieving the heartbreaking death of his 3-year-old son Ifeanyi, has been selected as one of the Africans and Americans to receive an award at the Afro Award in Los Angeles, California.

The announcement was made official by Mr. Taiwo Oduala, founder and executive producer of The Afro Awards, who also revealed that Sen. Ademola Jackson-Adeleke, governor-elect of the state and Davido’s uncle, is also a recipient.

The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada, Ayuko Babu, the founder and CEO of the Pan African Film Festival, and Seye Kehinde, a well-known Nigerian Journalist, will also be honored alongside Davido.





The recipients, according to him, include Americans and Africans who excelled in a variety of endeavors.


The much-anticipated event of the year, the Afro Awards 2022, is scheduled to be televised live on Sunday, November 6, at Regal La Live 1000 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90015, USA.

“The main focus of the award is to support people who have demonstrated exceptional humanitarian excellence in various fields, ” he said.
