Melaye, Fani-Kayode hug after weeks of mudslinging on social media

Dino Melaye, the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign council, and Femi Fani-Kayode, the former minister of aviation, hugged after weeks of calling each other unprintable names on social media.

Their back-and-forth mudslinging, which devolved into comedy skits, trended for days because many Nigerians found it amusing.

One of such mudslinging had Fani-Kayode describe Melaye as a filthy clown.

He had said, “When I raised issues about Dino Melaye’s confession of large-scale bribery at the PDP Convention and the “election” of Ayu. He attempted to respond but only with insults and a long diatribe of wild allegations and subjective invectives.”

The former Minister added, “I don’t have time for clowns, filthy peasants and desperate cowards but I couldn’t help but notice the anger in his response. He was crying like a baby. And it gave me pleasure.

“This campaign has only just started. We have plenty of time and we shall meet in the field.”

Fani-Kayode had issued the first jab by insinuating that Melaye was a sodomite.

“You may not like me much but unlike the agbero called Dino one thing I will never do is spread my buttocks and play rear guard receiver for Sodomy United,” he said.

Melaye then took to his page calling Fani-Kayode an “expensive shit.”

“FFK, your abuse is a mishmash of effluent concocted to toxify public discourse by an affluent and depraved rent-a-gob blowhard,” Melaye replied.
“FFK is Expensive shit from a cheap suit hired to clean up Sai Kaka’s incontrollable bowl movements,” he added.

But men have apparently buried the hatchet when they met at an event held to honour the father of former Senate president, Bukola.Saraki.

They could be seen in photos hugging and laughing almost as if they weren’t the same persons lashing out at each other on social media for weeks.
