Didier Drogba, a former Ivory Coast striker, has praised Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen as a complete striker.
This season, Osimhen has been on fire for his Serie A team Napoli.
Last Saturday, the 23-year-old scored a hat-trick in their 4-0 thrashing of Sassuolo.
His hat-trick was his first for the Parthenopeans.
Drogba made the assertion while reacting to a video clip on Twitter.
In the video, Osimhen unselfishly gave the ball to his Napoli teammate, Khivicha Kvaratskhelia to score from the penalty spot in a UEFA Champions League clash against Ajax last month.
Kvaratskhelia didn’t disappoint the Nigerian as he slotted the ball into the net to put the Partenopei 3-1 ahead in the game.
Osimhen later capitalized on Daley Blind’s howler to score Napoli’s fourth goal in the 89th minute.
Reacting to Osimhen’s gesture, Drogba wrote on his Twitter handle: That’s a complete striker: unselfishness…the real meaning of ‘win as A TEAM’ “!!!@victorosimhen9#fuoriclasse.”
Victor Osimhen impressed Luciano Spalletti after scoring a hat trick in Napoli’s 4-0 win over Sassuolo in Serie A on Saturday.
The Super Eagle displayed remarkable technique, pace, and physical power in his team’s 4-0 triumph over Sassuolo in a Serie A game at Diego Maradona Stadium.
Coach Spalletti was pleased with his top player’s ability to capitalize on opportunities to extend the team’s unbeaten streak.
“Seems to me that he is making progress, he has a lot of margins because his possibilities and his flashes are not accessible to a normal player,” Spalletti said according to Tutto Napoli.
“He was fast and accurate. Then today he didn’t take off his shirt, because he would have wanted to take it off.”
