Southampton sack manager Ralph Hasenhuttl

Following Sunday’s loss against Newcastle, Southampton fired Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The Magpies easily defeated Hasenhuttl’s team 4-1, prompting the club’s board to remove the Austrian.

Hasenhuttl has failed to produce great outcomes at Southampton for some time. The South Coast club is 18th in the Premier League, having won only three of their 14 games.

It comes after Southampton endured a run of 15 defeats in 22 games in a dismal winless period that started last season and ended with a narrow win at Bournemouth in October. Performances have not improved and the Saints were terrible against Newcastle.

Southampton’s hierarchy have now decided to dismiss the former RB Leipzig boss. A statement on the club’s official website thanked Hasenhuttl but said the time was right for a change.
