“I didn’t want to die”, says Teni Apata after dramatic weight loss

Teni Apata has explained her dramatic weight loss, revealing that she had feared for her health.

The singer, in a video flaunting her transformation, mouthed lyrics that explained why she had to shed weight.

The music star was earlier in the news after revealing she lost 75 pounds (34kg) body weight without surgery.

Long known for her plus-size fashion style, she also took a jab at those doubting that her weight loss was natural.

In a video shared via Twitter, Teni said she decided to tackle her obesity after she started fearing for her life.

“I realised you only have one life. Me, I don’t want to die. If you need inspiration, look at me,” the singer said.

Teni Apata has established herself as a prominent female musician in Nigeria with her many hit songs.

The singer released her debut single ‘Amen’ while signed to Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records.

She left the record label and signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment in 2017.

Teni started gaining prominence after releasing the single ‘Fargin’ in September of the same year.

She made her breakthrough after releasing the hit singles ‘Askamaya’, ‘Case” and ‘Uyo Meyo’.

Her studio projects include ‘Billionaire’ (2019), ‘The Quarantine Playlist’ (2020), and ‘Wondaland’ (2021).
