Just In: Panic as fire guts a filling station in Abuja (video)

A fire outbreak occurred at a filling station in Wuse zone 1 area of Abuja on Friday night, January 27, 2023.

It was gathered the fire broke out when a tanker was offloading its content.

According to reports, no casualties were recorded in the unfortunate incident, but at least one car was razed.

Recall also that just yesterday a structure in Lagos State’s famous Balogun market has been destroyed by fire.

Only three months ago, a fire broke out in the Balogun market, destroying a variety of items worth millions of dollars.




A fire broke out in one of the famous market structures on Thursday morning.

The cause of the fire could not be determined at the time of filing this report.
The Lagos State Emergency Agency and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services both stated that they responded to a fire distress call.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary of the agency, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, titled: ‘Situation report on the fire outbreak at Broad Street, Lagos Island’, he said, “The agency responded to distress calls concerning the fire incident involving some shops on the ground floor of a three-story building.

“The cause of the fire cannot be ascertained as no casualty was involved,” he added.

The agency’s response team alongside two Lagos State fire service trucks, two LRU fire trucks and police are present at the incident working together to subdue the inferno.
