APC Campaign Turns Bloody In Bauchi As Political Thugs Shoot Governorship Candidate’s Security Men

Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd.), the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Bauchi State, has said that three security details attached to him have been shot.

He said they were shot during the recent violent incident in Duguri, Alkaleri Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Sadique said his men succeeded in retrieving two guns from the thugs who carried out the attack.

He also raised concerns about the possibility of thugs being used on the day of the election, asserting that the APC would not be intimidated.

The former Chief of Air Staff challenged Governor Bala Mohammed to focus on the issues of governance in the state.

On Wednesday, one person identified as Danlami Shata was killed following a clash between supporters of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident occurred in Duguri, the hometown of the governor.

The APC governorship candidate, Sadiq Abubakar and the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, led the APC campaign in the town.

The PDP denied that its supporters blocked the passage of APC supporters, which allegedly triggered the fracas.

The spokesperson of the PDP in the state, Yahya Zainabari, said the intervention of the Inspector General of Police would ensure law and order was respected in the state during campaigns.
