Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkutukana, an award-winning singer and songwriter, confirmed her engagement to her partner Mpho Xaba on Twitter on Saturday afternoon, 11 March.
Although singer Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkutukana did not reveal the identity of her fiance, Zimoja reported that she is engaged to Mpho Xaba.
According to the publication, he proposed in front of family and friends, who assisted in putting together the surprise proposal.
“Nervous, shaking but sure he is doing the right thing, Mpho Xaba, her partner of six months thought carefully before going down on one knee”, adds the publication.
Her fiance told the entertainment site that he knows he’s doing the right thing in an exclusive interview: “I love her. But I am nervous, what If she says No?”
The singer’s assistant Lisa reportedly helped Xaba pick the ring. According to Lisa, the ring is a beautifully customized ring and costs R10 000.
The singer Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkutukana’s assistant Lisa also tells Zimoja that she assisted Mpho Xaba to pop the question by getting flowers and covering the ring in a big balloon written ‘Marry Me.’
“I had to pretend that she was attending a podcast to get her out of the house, we had her makeup done and everything was ready,” adds Lisa.
According to the publication Mpho Xaba is an engineer, who also customized her engagement ring.
“It is modest, yet glamorous and just a representation of her kindness and love.”
The singer revealed that she was happy when Zimoja contacted regarding the proposal and engagement.
