Early Life
Sista Afia, also known as Francisca Gawugah (born January 7, 1993), was born in Kumasi, Ghana, to Ms. Perpetual Duncan-Williams and Mr. Gawugah Eshun.
She is from Swedru, Ghana’s Central Region, but grew up in Santasi, Fankyenebra, a Kumasi suburb in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, and spent her childhood in Kumasi and Accra.
She chose, however, to pursue her musical passion. She returned to Ghana in 2015 to launch her career, and her hit singles Jeje featuring Shatta Wale and Slay Queen, helped her gain popularity.

Her education began at Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute in Accra, but she finished at Angel Educational Complex in Kumasi due to her mother’s absence.

Freda Rhymz released Point Of Correction on May 11, 2020, in response to Sista Afia’s You Got Nerves and Eno Barony’s Argument Done. Freda Rhymz and Sista Afia engaged in physical sparring on the premises of TV3 Network following the release of Point Of Correction.
