Wunmi Toriola (born 11 July 1988). She is a native of Ogun State, Nigeria, from the country’s western region but was born and raised in Lagos. She Comes from a strict and disciplined family of four children and a US-based father.
Education
She attended Providence Primary and Secondary School in Lagos State before she later proceeded to the University of Ilorin, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics.
Career
Wunmi began her acting career when she joined the Odunfa Caucus, a Yoruba theatre group led by Yinka Qadri, Taiwo Hassan, and Sunny Ali. Toriola received her first acting role in the 2009 film Odunfa Caucus.
Wunmi was 21 when she appeared in the Yoruba film Isese Lagba in 2009. Years passed, and the actress’s career became prominent as she appeared in numerous films. Nonetheless, she rose to prominence in 2012 when she appeared in Ajewunmi.
Her most well-known works include Alakada Reloaded, in which she played the role of “Wunmi,” and Queen Lateefat, in which she played the role of “Queen Lateefat.”
She has also featured in films alongside A-list actors such as Toyin Abraham, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Odunlade Adekola, Broda Shaggi, and Akeem Adeyemi, among others.

Wunmi Toriola got married in 2018. She gave birth to her first child on 14 October 2019. In January 2023, the Nollywood actress and mum of one, Wumi Toriola seemingly confirmed that her marriage of barely three years has crashed.

Nollywood actress Wunmi Toriola finally reacted to rumors concerning her marriage, confirming that she has separated from her husband.
She also addressed allegations that she was violent during her marriage, stating that such allegations were false.
There had been rumors on social media concerning the actress’ marriage after participating in a viral TikTok challenge where she claimed she was single.
A famous blogger, Gistlover, had also hinted at the marriage crash, coupled with allegations that the actress’ display of violence led to the end of the union.

“There has been a lot of media attention on me lately regarding my marriage. Yes, indeed, the marriage is over. We have gone our separate ways for over a year now. It didn’t work out; there was no need for drama hence my reason for not letting my fans know.
“But yesterday, I saw a report where it was alleged that I was violent while the marriage lasted, and I used to beat my mother and my mother-in-law. It was reported that my ex allegedly concocted these lies.
“For the record, I am not a violent person. I have not had to exchange punches with anyone, and I was never violent in the marriage.
“The most painful part of the report is that I used to beat my mother. This is not only a personal attack; it is satanic. It is against everything I stand for and believe. As a properly raised Yoruba lady, laying your hands on your parent is costly.
“My mum has been late for over 20 years. And I never raise my hands against my mother-in-law. It never happened, and it will never happen. My family members, my ex’s family members, and our neighbors can testify to that.
“I wish those who started the rumor and those spreading well and pray that God rewards every one of us according to the works of our hands.
“I am focused on the next level, and I have moved on from the past. I advise everyone else to do the same.”
