Alicia Vikander is best known for appearing in Sveriges Television’s drama and opera series Andra Avenyn. She played the recurring role of Jossan Tegebrandt Björn from 2007 to 2008. Her performance in the series earned her various accolades and roles in some popular series. 

Vikander started her professional career as a child star and first got the role of Ebba Du Rietz in the television movie Min balsamerade mor, in 2002. Early Life

Alicia Amanda Vikander was (born October 3, 1988), in Gothenburg, Sweden. She is the daughter of stage actress Maria Fahl and psychiatrist Svante Vikander. Shortly after her birth, Alicia’s parents divorced when she was just 5 months old. Since then, she was raised by her single mother but often visited her father. Currently, she has 5 paternal half-siblings. 

Early Interests

Vikander was 7 years old, and she started her acting career and performed in a Göteborg Opera production of Kristina från Duvemåla, for more than 3 years. The famous writer’s ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus have written the opera Kristina från Duvemåla. Around this time, she was cast in another of Göteborg’s productions, Les Misérables and The Sound of Music. 

After competing in the 1997s children’s singing reality show Småstjärnorna, she won after performing the Helen Sjöholms single, Du måste finnas. She became interested in ballet dance and started training at nine with the Svenska Balettskolan I Göteborg. At that time, she was a student at Royal Swedish Ballet School in Gothenburg.

Still, after one summer, her dance career almost ended due to injuries in her late teens. After certain injuries, Vikander left dance and started focusing on becoming an actress. 

Although she was accepted to attend law school, she was more interested in acting and went on to become an actress.

Vikander’s acting career started when she got a chance to appear in several short movies and T.V. shows in the Swedish industry. In 2002 she appeared as a child actor in the T.V. show Min balsamerade mor, followed by appearing in an episode of the 2003 series The Befallen. She continued to play minor roles in episodes of T.V. series such as En decemberdröm (2005) and Levande föda (2007). 

Alicia Vikander landed her first big role as Jossan Tegebrandt Björn in the SVT drama Andra Avenyn in which she appeared from 2007 to 2008.
