Mane suspended by Bayern Munich after Sane fight

Bayern Munich has suspended Sadio Mane following his altercation with Leroy Sane in the locker room on Tuesday.

Mane is said to have punched a teammate in the face following his side’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Etihad.

The Senegalese forwards, who were spotted back in Bayern Munich training with Sane this morning, have escaped the axe.

However, Bayern confirmed in a statement that he had been dropped from the squad for Saturday’s crucial Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena. Mane, who earns £17 million per year, will also face an undisclosed fine, according to the club.

‘Sadio Mané, 31, will not be in the FC Bayern squad for the home game against 1899 Hoffenheim next Saturday,’ Bayern said.

‘The reason is misconduct by Mané after FC Bayern’s Champions League game at Manchester City. In addition, Mané will receive a fine.’
