Why I had my womb removed – Actress Nse Ikpe Etim

Nse Ikpe-Etim said that after being diagnosed with Adenomyosis, she amputated her womb to preserve her life. Adenomyosis is a gynecological medical disorder in which the uterine inner lining (the endometrium) breaks through the muscle wall (the myometrium).

The Nollywood star revealed this during a “Conversation with Nse” event in Lekki, Lagos.

Mrs Ikpe-Etim stated that she was diagnosed with the condition in 2016. She said she cried when the doctor told her she needed to have her uterus removed to live an everyday life.

“I was told I couldn’t have kids,” she told the audience.

“And so, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to make me have a life again and to stop going through what I was going through. And I’m literally telling women and men, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe.”

I can carry one hairstyle for ten years —Nse Ikpe-Etim.

Nse Ikpe-Etim also revealed that she might go a decade without altering her hairstyle because she doesn’t feel obligated to visit the saloon.

This was said by the star actress in the Netflix series Shanty Town and Reloaded, among other top movies, while reacting to some of her admirers who left comments on her timeline about her latest film, Sunday Affair.

Speaking about her recent film, ‘Sunday Affair,’ in which she co-starred with Dakore, Nse responded to a curious fan who chastised the actress and other cast members for wearing the same wig for the course of a one-year film.

The fan had questioned how Nse felt comfortable wearing one wig for the entire duration of a film whose plot spans more than a year, but Nse responded it was nothing out of the norm because she could wear one hairstyle for ten years.

Siblings

Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim and Nse Ikpe-Etim are very close to each other, and times without number the popular Nollywood actress has shown public support for her sister, especially with her choice of sexuality and relationships.
