Early Life
Oludipe Oluwasanmi David (born on October 1, 1997, 28 years old), in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended primary school at New Mainland Children’s School before moving on to secondary school at Model College in Meiran, Lagos. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Ibadan.
Career
Spyro began his musical career at a young age in high school, first in a church choir. Although the Nigerian musician is fresh to the country’s music scene, his work ethic and other attributes have demonstrated to the rest of the world that he has what it takes to conquer the industry.
He began singing in a church choir as a high school student, where he received his start in music. Usher and R. Kelly were the two performers the Nigerian singer named as musical influences, and his afrobeat-infused work reflects both. He began as an independent artist, however, and has remained so.
With the publication of his debut single, “Funke,” Spyro established a professional music career. The remix featured renowned Nigerian musicians Davido and Mayorkun. Unfortunately, the song did not gain widespread popularity. Spyro’s song “Gunshot” was released in 2019. The singer also released a second song named “For You” during Covid in 2020.
Spyro’s smash tune “Billing,” released in July 2022, quickly gained popularity online, particularly on TikTok. The song made the top 100 Nigerian music charts and was available on numerous streaming services.
On November 25, 2022, Spyro released “Who Is Your Guy,” a new popular tune. The song gained popularity outside of Nigeria and Africa. In March 2023, he remixed the song with Tiwa Savage and released it.
The song reached number one in Liberia, number five on Apple’s top 100 Nigerian songs, number two in Ghana, Uganda, Niger, and Gambia, and number two in Sierra Leone. However, “Who Is Your Guy” is Spyro’s largest and most significant hit.
