Biography

Early Life

Tessa Twala was (born September 5, 1990) in the small town of Matsapha in Swaziland. She moved to Cape Town to be near her mother, who lived and worked there. In a recent Instagram post, she revealed that she nearly died as a toddler and began speaking English at seven.

At 15, she got her first job as a waitress. She moved to Johannesburg at 22 to pursue her dream of becoming an actress.

Education

Tessa Twala has been studying but has decided to postpone her marketing management studies at the University of South Africa for the time being.

Career

Twala Tessa began working as a waitress at 15 and has also worked in bartending promotions and modeling. She has also attempted to work at a bank.

Twala was a consultant for a payment solutions firm. Working there was difficult for her because one of their clients had “sexist tendencies.” She had to leave her job right away.

Tessa attended her first auditions for Zabalaza after moving to Johannesburg. Twala was cast as Lexi in season 3 of the now-defunct Mzansi Magic soap opera Zabalaza in February 2015, despite having no acting experience.

Ring of Lies

Tessa Twala plays Gugu in the hit television show Ring of Lies. The protagonist is a young girl who both parents raise. Her mother died when she was a young child.

She becomes a loose cannon after being raised by her aunt. Her aunt, now her guardian, lavished her with affection and love. Gugu discovers freedom as a teenager but abuses it.
