Uche Jumbo reacts as Chimamanda Adichie reports Tinubu’s drug case to America President, Biden

Nigerian Actress, Uche Jombo has reacted after renowned writer Chimamanda Adichie, criticised the United States over its congratulatory message to the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, who was declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

A spokesperson for the US State Department commended Nigeria on Tinubu’s victory, the same day the President-elect was declared the winner, while calling for calm amid accusations of voter fraud and concerns over technical glitches.

Chimamanda, in an open letter to US President Joe Biden published in The Atlantic on Thursday, expressed bewilderment that the US went on to describe the process as a “competitive election” that “represents a new period for Nigerian politics and democracy.”

She also berated the United States Department for congratulating the outcome of a flawed electoral process, despite its stance on “global community for democracy, and the need to stand up for “justice and the rule of law.

Adichie alleged in the letter that the Independent National Electoral Commission chairman, Mahmood Yakubu may have been compromised by the All Progressive Congress, (APC) flag bearer, Bola Tinubu, a person according to the novelist, a lot Nigerians call “a “drug baron” because, he forfeited to the United States government $460,000 of his income that a Chicago court determined to be proceeds from heroin trafficking.”

Reacting to the letter, Uche Jombo via her Twitter page on Thursday night, commended the popular novelist.

According to her, Adichie is everything that she says she is.
