The Spanish Feminine League Season is coming to an end, and a lot has happened this season, with Barcelona Women already named Champions based on their position on the League Table. However, the goal scorers’ chart no longer favours Barcelona Women, as Oshoala is no longer in first place.
Since Alba Redondo of Levante refuses to relinquish first place after passing Asisat Oshoala on the Scorers’ Chart, she appears to be the right player to dethrone Oshoala this season.
Redondo scored her 25th and 26th goals of the season against Real Madrid Women in Levante’s 29th game of the season, which they lost 3-2.
The Spaniard has 26 goals, five more than Oshoala and three more than Kundananji of Madrid CFF Women. She will retain the leader until someone else attempts to overtake her in the season’s last game.
Racheal Kundananji of Madrid CFF Women is very close to Alba Redondo, the leading force on the Goal scorers’ Chart. The Zambian Star scored her 23rd goal in Madrid’s 0-2 victory over Valencia Women in their 29th game of the season.
Kundananji trail Redondo by 3 goals but could change the goal scorers’ chart in Madrid CFF Women’s last game, if only she is able to score 4 goals. She remains a contender until the Final day of the season.
Oshoala of Barcelona Women was leading the Scorers’ Log for long until she was later overtaken by Redondo. The Nigerian International will have to give away the position she occupied last season after winning the Pichichi Award, to another winner this season.
However, she will definitely maintain the position and the Award if she can score 7 goals in Barca’s final game of the season. Scoring 7 goals as an individual in modern day football, is very unrealistic but nothing look impossible the Same time.
If 7 goals target for Asisat Oshoala is such a tall order, she will have to appreciate her 3rd position this season, since Barcelona Women already secured the League Title. She has scored 21 times already in the League this season.
Oshoala’s Barcelona will face Kundananji’s Madrid CFF Women in the final league match, where they can both increase their goals’ tally. Redondo will also play against Real Betis Women, protecting her goals and hopefully claiming her first Pichichi Award.
