Nakiyingi Veronica Lugya alias Vinka is a Ugandan Musical artist, dancer, singer, and songwriter. She is signed under Swangz Avenue and Sony Music Entertainment. Early Life

Veronica Lugya aka Vinka was (born June 27, 1994), in Kampala, Uganda, to Mr & Mrs. Luggya. She had her primary and secondary education in Kampala and gained admission into the prestigious Makerere University, Kampala, to study Tourism and Hospitality.

Career

To her, music was a hobby since childhood, but at A level, she mainly concentrated on dancing. While at Makerere University, Vinka joined the famous record label Swangz Avenue as a talent manager, a job she actively did for nearly three years.

At 19 years, she was handling Irene Ntale and Winnie Nwagi’s businesses. Balancing books and professional work was quite hard for Vinka, but she emerged victorious, graduating in February 2018 with a Bachelor of Tourism.

Veronica Lugya started her entertainment career as a dancer for singers like Cindy, Jackie Chandiru, and Maurice Kirya before working as an intern at Uganda’s premier entertainment company, Swangz Avenue, while still in the higher institution.

She quickly rose through the ranks at Swangz, working as an artist manager for the label’s prominent artists like Winnie Nwagi and Irene Ntale.

In 2016, her record label asked her to convert into a singer, which she obliged. In February 2017, she signed a record deal with Swangz Avenue under the stage name, ‘Vinka.’ 

Veronica Lugya started her singing career with a single titled ‘Level’ followed by a collaboration with Irene Ntale’ Stylo.’ She has so far released several songs, of which many topped Uganda’s music charts.

She officially released her first single, ‘Level,’ on 1 February 2017. She went ahead to release several bangers that year. Songs like; Malaika, Love Doctor, Only Love You, and Overdose feature The Voltage Music, among others.

The songs received massive airplay and cemented her position in the music industry. Vinka became better and better each day. In 2018, she was already well-established, and one could only mention talented dance hall artists in Uganda if featuring Vinka.

Personal Life

Not much is known about Vinka’s personal life, but her parents have supported her since she joined the entertainment industry.

Regarding her relationship, Vinka is currently not in any relationship. In a recent interview with Ugandan Newspaper, RedPepper, revealed that she’s still focusing on her music career for now, hence not the reason behind her not being in any relationship.

Relationship

In an interview with Ugandan Redpepper back in 2018, Vinka said, “I am not in a relationship at the moment, I’m still focusing on my career for now, so no lucky guy yet.” Whether she decided to venture into a relationship after getting her music career on track must be clear.

Relationship with Irene Ntale 

Vinka had started as the manager of Irene Ntale, and she decided to pursue a music career after Ntale quit the music label. They acted like best friends all years they were together, but the two broke up, and controversial stories and allegations went viral on social media. 

The two attacked each other and accused themselves of different kinds of allegations. Vinka accused Ntale of snatching married men, and she says this came to her notice when she was still the manager of Ntale, and up to now, the other two don’t see eye to eye.
