Disney Reportedly Offered Johnny Depp $20M for Jack Sparrow Return and He Refused It!

Over the past three decades, Johnny Depp has managed to establish himself as an outstanding actor in the entertainment industry. However, the actor has also been involved in several controversies, specifically his high-profile court case with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. These controversies have somewhat overshadowed his professional achievements in recent years.

In 2022, the actor managed to win a defamation case against Heard. Since then, he has been working hard to redeem his image. The legal issues began in 2016 when Heard filed for a divorce and then accused him of abusing her. These allegations damaged Depp’s reputation to the point where Disney decided to remove him from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Since the actor is clean now, Disney approached the actor once again but this time, he is not interested.

Some sources close to actor Johnny Depp have revealed that the actor has no plans of working with Disney again in their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The actor was reportedly offered $20 million for playing Captain Jack Sparrow again, however, he is not interested.

The actor’s friends have revealed that Depp is upset over the fact that Disney fired him after his ex-wife, Amber Heard, accused him of domestic abuse back in 2016. Disney seems to be knocking on his door again as his legal troubles are a thing of the past now.

After fighting lengthy court battles, Depp realized that he is more interested in art and music than acting. A source close to the actor stated.

“He says he isn’t interested in speaking someone else’s words. He is interested in authentic expression of himself, through art and music at the moment. He’s got no interest in Hollywood at all.”

In any case, even if Depp returns to acting, it’s clear that fans will not get to see him playing Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

In 2018, Amber Heard wrote an opinion piece for The Washington Post titled, I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. In the op-ed, she claimed that she was a victim of domestic abuse without naming Johnny Depp.

Depp then filed a defamation case against Heard requesting punitive and compensatory damages in the amount of $50 million. Finally, in June 2022, the court concluded that the op-ed was actually about Depp, and Heard was found guilty. Heard was ordered to pay roughly $10 million dollars.
