Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has been ordered to have immediate access to his attorneys and family members by an Abuja Federal High Court.
Justice Hamza Muazu granted the ruling on Friday in response to a request made by J.B. Daudu, Emefiele’s attorney.
Emefiele was detained by the DSS on Saturday after being suspended by President Bola Tinubu on Friday night, according to CREEBHILLS.
His attorney had told the court that he had sent letters to the DSS, particularly on June 14, asking for more instructions from the agency, but the DSS had declined to answer the request.
In ruling on the application, Justice Muazu said it is within Emefiele’s constitutional rights to have access to his lawyers and family members.
