Akinkunmi Amoo, a former forward with the Golden Eaglets, was found guilty of sexual assault and handed a one-year prison sentence by a Danish court.
However, Amoo will challenge the jury’s ruling.
Amoo, according to the Danish newspaper, Ekstra Bladet, was accused of rape, attempted rape, and violating two additional women.
The footballer was initially charged with a crime by Danish authorities in April 2022, and then again in July and August 2022.
For the most of June, the trial has been ongoing.
The Copenhagen District Court found the Nigerian responsible for all three of the accusations.
Following completion of his jail sentence, the 21-year-old will be deported.
After that, he will have a six-year entry ban imposed on him.
Amoo competed for the Golden Eaglets at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
