Emefiele: Hand him over to EFCC – Femi Falana tells Dss

Falana

Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to hand over suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for additional investigation.

Recall that on Friday, President Bola Tinubu suspend Emefiele.

The DSS disclosed on Saturday that he was in their custody for “some investigative reasons.”

Falana cautioned DSS not to “bungle” the investigation, though, in a statement on Sunday.

In relation to claims of money laundering and other economic crimes, he claimed that the DSS “lacks the power to investigate and prosecute Emefiele.”

He added that Emefiele should, in turn, be handed over to an agency with the constitutional power to investigate such a case.
