In a video that has gone viral in the media, Creebhills reports that the Department of State Services, DSS, has detained Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s suspended governor.
Recall that Emefiele was already suspended by President Bola Tinubu on Friday.
As a successor for Emefiele, Tinubu has named Mr. Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi as interim governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The Department of State Services (DSS) is holding Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) suspended governor, according to the secret police.
This is according to a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Peter Afunanya, on Saturday.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons,” it said.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.”
