Nigerian singer Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, often known as Joeboy, claims Grammy-winning artist Wizkid gave young musicians in the nation hope that they might become famous at a young age.
Joeboy made this claim on the most recent episode of the audiovisual podcast Body & Soul.
“Before Wizkid, it was difficult for young artistes to blow early,” the “Baby” crooner stated.
After initially seeing Wizkid, Joeboy claimed he knew he was destined to be a celebrity.
Joeboy said he knew he was going to be a star after meeting Wizkid for the first time.
He said,
“One thing I really appreciate about Wizkid is that he made young artistes believe that they could pop [hit stardom] at a young age. Before Wiz, if any artiste pop, it was probably at a very later stage in life. But after Wiz young people started coming through.”
See video below;
“Moment I met Wizkid was when I knew I was going to blow, it was the sign I need. The thing I love about Wizkid is he made young artistes believe you can be young and blow”
