Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Mendy to join Saudi Arabian club

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy says being African did him a 'disservice'

Edouard Mendy, the goalkeeper for Chelsea, has reached a personal agreement with Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.

A price for Mendy’s prospective relocation to the Middle East is now being discussed by Al Ahli and Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, revealed this on Monday in a tweet posted to his Twitter account.

“Understand that Edouard Mendy has now agreed personal terms with Saudi side Al Ahli — contract will be valid until June 2026,” Romano tweeted.

“Negotiations at the final stages for Senegal goalkeeper to join Saudi league from Chelsea on a permanent deal. Here we go soon!”

Mendy has just 12 months left on his current contract with Chelsea.

Chelsea are reportedly keen on not offering the Senegalese international a new deal, as they are happy with Kepa and are also targeting a move for Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili.
