Billionaire Bill Gates disclosed why he had to research on Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Rema before arriving in Nigeria.
The Microsoft co-founder who is visiting the country to address polio and other threats said his daughter Phoebe told him he was lucky to get the chance to see Burna Boy and Rema.
While engaging Nigerians in Lagos, Gates reminded those present of his previous visit to Nigeria and talked about it how Afrobeats has gone global.
“Of course, I’ve been here in Nigeria. I can’t help but mention the amazing creativity that goes on here.
You know, Afrobeats from Nigeria are popular everywhere.
“When my daughter Phoebe heard I was going to Nigeria, she said, ‘Oh, you’re lucky. You get to see Burna Boy and Rema.
“So, I had to look them up. I’m so hip…”, he said.

But I remember the last time I was here, I got to see Davido & Wizkid perform.
