Kayode Egbetokun, the current acting inspector general of police, is now the 22nd Inspector General of Police.
At noon, Usman Baba, who had been serving as the IGP immediately before him, formally gave Egbetokun the reins of his office.
On Tuesday, Egbetokun and the Service Chiefs were both named as the new acting IGP by President Bola Tinubu.
At the Villa on Wednesday,Vice President Kashim Shettima decorated Egbetokun.
Soon after accepting his honor, the acting IGP declared war on all criminals and Nigeria’s enemies.
Egbetokun reportedly asserted that he was prepared to hunt down all criminals and Nigeria’s enemies like tigers and lions.
