Sensational Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade has recounted history as she shows gratitude to BET.

Yemi Alade was very thankful to BET for promoting Afrobeats and making them recognized internationally and globally.

Yemi Alade noted the huge difference in Afrobeats within the space of 2023 and 2015.

Yemi Alade recounted how Afrobeats singers were very insignificant and used to recieved accolades and awards behind closed doors, also how they used to be skipped in live TV streams.

However, coming to present times Afrobeats singers are no longer irrelevant, and now have become significant in main guest list and categories, because of the help of BET, who stepped them up.

“8 years later ,we no longer receive awards back stage at award ceremonies.

We are on the main guest lists and Our categories are not skipped on live TV or feed/streams. 2015 and 2016 was a different time.thank you BET for stepping up!!! Afrobeats to the world”, she wrote.
