“I don’t want problems in my life” – Yemi Alade Explains Why a Collaboration With Tiwa Savage Hasn’t Happened Yet

Yemi Alade Explains Why a Collaboration

Afropop singer Yemi Alade has opened up about why a collaboration between her and fellow superstar Tiwa Savage hasn’t materialized despite years of fan anticipation.

Speaking on the Jude Chinwo Podcast, Yemi Alade highlighted her strong history of collaborating with other female artists in the Nigerian music industry, including Omawumi, Waje, and Seyi Shay.

However, when asked about the possibility of a song with Tiwa Savage, she revealed she’s been careful about the idea.

“The fan favorite is the one you mentioned,” Yemi said, referring to Tiwa. “I’d rather just stay clear; I don’t want problems in my life.”

The “Johnny” hitmaker quickly clarified that there’s no personal issue between them but explained that public perception and online chatter can often complicate things unnecessarily.

“No problem at all,” she continued. “It’s just that most times, fans and media stir waters that are supposed to be calm. I’m not trying to make something out of nothing because there really isn’t any problem.”

Yemi’s statement puts to rest long-standing rumors of rivalry between the two award-winning singers, both of whom have significantly shaped the Afrobeats landscape in their own right.
