AC Milan has officially announced the signing of Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent basis.
The Italian club acknowledged their delight at acquiring the Nigerian forward to their ranks and stated that Chukwueze has signed a five-year contract with the Rossoneri that will keep him with the club until June 2028.
Chukwueze, who was born on May 22, 1999, in Umuahia, Nigeria, began his football career with the Diamond Football Academy Youth Sector before joining Villarreal in 2017.
Initially, he shown his skill with Villarreal CF’s B squad, appearing in 20 games and scoring four goals. His outstanding play quickly won him a promotion to the senior team, where he made his debut in September 2018.
During his time at Villarreal, the 24-year-old winger made a significant impact, featuring in 207 games and finding the back of the net 37 times. Notably, he played a pivotal role in Villarreal’s success, contributing to their triumph in the Europa League.
Chukwueze’s impressive form also earned him international recognition, as he earned 28 caps for Nigeria and scored four goals while representing his country. The winger has proved his versatility and skill on the pitch, making him a valuable asset for both club and country.
With Milan in search of a new right winger this summer, Chukwueze was their prime target, having caught their attention with an outstanding performance last season for the Yellow Submarine. His contributions of 13 goals and 11 assists across all competitions demonstrated his attacking prowess and ability to create opportunities for his teammates.
