Asisat Oshoala, the Super Falcons striker has referred to Nigeria as “the best country in the world,” emphasizing her desire to always give her all while wearing the national team shirt.
This was said by the 28-year-old in a post-game interview following the Super Falcons’ 3-2 triumph on Thursday over World Cup co-hosts Australia.
Oshoala scored Nigeria’s third goal after coming off the bench, becoming the first African player to score in three distinct tournament iterations.
She scored her first World Cup goal in Nigeria’s 2015 3-3 tie with Sweden, and she scored her second in France’s 2-0 World Cup triumph against South Korea.
“Each tournament I go, I wanna make sure I did everything; fight for my teammates, and fight for this badge. This [Nigeria] is the best county in the world,” Oshoala said.
