You’ll be 20 points worse – Tottenham warned against allowing Harry Kane go

Harry Kane demands to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer

Tottenham has been told that without Harry Kane, they could be more than 20 points worse off this season.

Former England national team manager Stuart Pearce issued the warning as the striker remains one of the most talked-about topics during the summer transfer window.

Kane is in the final year of his Spurs contract and has refused to sign a new one.

Bayern Munich are the frontrunners to sign the 29-year-old, but the north London club are plainly unwilling to surrender their top player at any price.

Pearce appeared on talkSPORT Drive with Andy Goldstein and reckons Tottenham must want a British record sum of more than £105 million if they are to transfer the player.

Asked if Tottenham’s season hinges on Harry Kane’s future, Pearce said: “It’ll go a long way.

“At the start of any season you look at your squad, go through it and see how many goals you’ve got in your squad and each goal equates to a point, near enough.

“If you look at the league table at the end of the season and a team has scored 70 goals then the chances are that they’re in and around 70 points.

“By losing Harry Kane you’re taking a lot of goals out of your team.”
