2023 WWC: Super Falcons kicked out after losing to England

FIFA reacts as Super Falcons beat Australia to top Group B

The FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is currently taking place in Australia and New Zealand, will not feature Nigeria in the quarterfinal.

This comes following the Super Falcons‘ Round of 16 loss to England on Monday, which ended in a penalty shootout.

After 120 minutes, Nigeria and England had a 0-0 draw.

The Nigerian team was dangerous during offensives and they gave the European champions a real fright on a number of occasions.

During the penalty shootout, Desire Oparanozie and Michelle Alozie both missed their place kicks.

The quarterfinals is expected to take place on Friday and Saturday.
