Captain of Nigeria’s women’s national football team, Rasheedat Ajibade, has revealed that the Super Falcons are yet to receive the $100,000 cash gift promised to them by President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu announced the reward during a reception held in honour of the team for winning this year’s Women Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco. In addition to the cash, the players and coaches were promised houses and conferred with national honours.

However, in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade claimed that none of these promises have been fulfilled.

“We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid,” Ajibade said.

“They have not paid, all the promises, we have not received anything.”

Just a week after the Super Falcons’ reception, Tinubu announced the same rewards for Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress.
