According to Michelle Alozie, the Super Falcons star, she claims that Lauren James, the England star, did not make any private contact with her after the stomping incident that took place during the recently finished Women’s World Cup.
The incident occurred during the round of 16 tie, where Chelsea women’s player, Lauren James, stomped on Michelle Alozie.
Unfortunately, the Super Falcons lost the match 4-2 on penalties, as both normal and extra time ended with no goals.
Due to her actions, Lauren James received a red card and a two-game suspension. In response to the widespread condemnation of her behavior, the Chelsea player issued an apology on social media.
When asked if Lauren reached out to her privately after incident during an interview with Channels Television, Michelle Alozie who plays her club football with Houston Dash said;
“No, she did not reach out to me but the apology was on Twitter and Instagram.”
On photo of the incident becoming a meme for social media users, Michelle Alozie stated that she found it funny.
“I think it was kind of funny how it all came about. After the game, obviously, I was really upset and wasn’t really looking at my phone. So, some of my teammates were like ‘Michelle, you have to see this photo of you maybe it would make you smile a little bit’ because I was kind of upset.”
Following their superb performance at the Women’s World Cup, the Super Falcons have now moved eight places to peak at 32nd in the latest FIFA world rankings.
