Roberto Mancini resigns as coach of Italy

Roberto Mancini has stood down as Italy’s national team coach.

After five years at the leadership, the 58-year-old handed in his resignation letter on Saturday evening.

Mancini guided the Azzurri to the 2020 European Championships title, their first since the 2006 World Cup, as well as the finals of the 2023 Nations League.

The Italian Football Federation stated that his replacement will be announced in the coming days.
