Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen has stated that he is dissatisfied with his statistics thus far this season.
This season, the 22-year-old Nigerian has five goals in the Bundesliga.
Boniface has also demonstrated his creative side by contributing two assists, totaling seven goal combinations in five games.
During the last matchday, he broke a 28-year Bundesliga record by having the most shots on goal after five games. Uwe Wegmann previously held the record with VFL Bochum in 1994/1995.
The striker found out about the record after Leverkusen defeated Heidenhem 4-1, and his reaction was unusual. The striker was not satisfied, but rather want more.
“No, I really can’t be happy. How would I be? If you shoot 38 times on goal, you have to score at least 25 goals. I scored eight. I have no particular reason to be happy about that.” The striker said, as quoted by Mozzartsports.
The 191cm-tall striker seems to possess a mentality similar to five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, as both attackers want to always do more for their teams by helping out with scoring goals.
Meanwhile, Leverkusen and Boniface are not looking to slow down anytime soon as they travel to a winless Mainz this weekend.
