IGP meets Lagos CP over Mohbad’s death, promises detailed investigation

The Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has directed the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, to carry out a thorough investigation into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.

MohBad’s tragic passing on Tuesday, September 12, has been enmeshed in controversy with most Nigerians calling on the Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.


In a tweet on Saturday, Police spokesperson, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the IGP asked CP Owohunwa to deploy necessary resources needed for the investigation.


The IGP also promised to provide necessary support for the command in the course of the investigation


“IGP and CP Lagos deliberating on the death of Mohbad at the Police Airwing, Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja Lagos on Saturday. The IGP immediately directed CP Lagos to deploy the command’s resources to carry out thorough investigation on the matter. The IGP promised the CP of adequate support on the case,” the Police spokesperson said.
