The global command of Nigerian Afrobeats is gradually expanding, casting a stint of appeal upon the United States of America (USA).
It’s become proven that Nigeria’s foremost musical talents have not only captured the masses but also engulfed the attention of the titans of sports.
The 34-year-old Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was asked to name his top five music artists.
However, with a touch of whimsy and a dash of individuality, Curry decided to one-up the question by naming six. In doing so, he wove a symphony that eclipsed borders, civilly blending the stars of America and Nigeria into his list.
Curry name-dropped the Canadian rapper Drake, as well as the Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Burnaboy.
He also named US rappers Lecrae and J Cole, spicing up the conversation with these musical flavors. It’s safe to say he covered a wide range of musical genres!
Curry said, “Oh, Drake Paramore, who I listen to?
“Burna Boy, Wizkid, Lecrae, and J. Cole, I’m giving you six.”
