Andy Alloy was (born on 13 January 1989), in Bamenda, Northwest Region, Cameroon. Allo, a native of Bamenda in the Northwest Region of Cameroon, developed a keen interest in music from a young age. Her musical journey began when her mother taught her to play the piano at seven. Allo is the youngest among her five siblings.

Having dual citizenship in both the United States and Cameroon, Allo moved significantly to Sacramento in 2000. At eleven, she relocated with her sister Suzanne, joining their three other siblings who were already residing there. The decision to move was prompted by their Californian-born mother, Sue, who had to return due to her battle with chronic fatigue syndrome. On the other hand, Allo’s father, Andrew Allo, is an ecologist.

Education

Allo attended PNEU school in Bamenda, Cameroon, before starting her US education at Arden Middle School in Sacramento in seventh grade. She completed her high school education in 2006 at El Camino Fundamental High School in Sacramento. After graduating, Allo enrolled at American River College in Sacramento. During this time, she formed her band Allo and the Traffic Jam, which occasionally performed for tips at the intersection of 22nd and J streets in Sacramento.

Career

In 2008, Allo debuted as a solo artist at the Fox & Goose Public House in downtown Sacramento, where she performed at an open mic night. The following year, she independently released her first album, “UnFresh,” with 12 original tracks. One of the album’s standout singles, “Dreamland,” featured a collaboration with rapper Blu.

Allo’s talent and musical prowess garnered attention, leading her to join American musician Prince’s band, the New Power Generation, in 2011. During her time touring with Prince, they began collaborating on several songs.
