Davido Adeleke, widely known as Davido, a Nigerian afrobeat singer, has responded on social media to the heartfelt apology of Ayo Makun, a famous Nigerian stand-up comedian.
Remember how there was fury on social media when a video from Ayo Makun’s last gig in Warri surfaced, insulting Davido’s manhood, which he said was smaller than his large one?
The comedian/actor went on to criticize the singer for using his small manhood to have children with multiple mothers, something he had been trying for 13 years with his larger one.
The inappropriate joke sparked outrage among Nigerians on social media. They chastised the father of two for openly disgracing his colleague in the entertainment industry.
Following this, Mabel Makun decried the rate at which Nigerian youths abandon elders in an Instagram post in support of her husband.
Ayo Makun carpeted his wife by apologizing to Davido for his terrible joke, blaming the blogs for misconstruing his remarks.
“I’m very sorry for cracking that joke in Warri the way I did. I shouldn’t call it a joke any longer. It wasn’t as humorous as it was during my tour of the United States and Canada, and you have every reason to be upset after seeing how the bloggers interpreted it.
Please keep in mind that everyone in the entertainment industry is constantly learning. I deserve whatever anger or unpleasant thoughts that come my way as a result of the poorly executed joke in Warri. So there are no excuses, my Aburo. I have no cause to be. I am still your biggest fan, and I adore you. @davido”
Davido, who is unfazed by the viral video, advised Ayo Makun not to bother. He penned, “Nothing spoils baba mi.”
