Popular rapper Drake has made the difficult decision to prioritize his health by taking a break from his music career.
In an emotional statement, the talented artist expressed the need to step away from the spotlight indefinitely in order to focus on his physical well-being.
The announcement came shortly after the release of his latest album, ‘For All The Dogs,’ on his SiriusXM radio show, Table For One.
Drake revealed that he has been struggling with stomach issues for years and believes that a break of one year or more will allow him to fully concentrate on his health.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit, I’m gonna be honest.
“I need to focus on my health, first and foremost… Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach.”
“I’m going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe a year or something. Maybe a little longer,” Drake said.
This news comes as Drake recently achieved the impressive feat of becoming the most Shazamed artist of all time, with over 350 million searches.
Shazam, a digital platform celebrating its 20-year anniversary, recognized Drake’s achievement by including him in their list of noteworthy moments, which also features the most Shazamed songs by genre and the first-ever Shazamed song.
