Ifu Ennada, a former contestant on Big Brother Naija, recently shared her past experience in a relationship where she had to learn the hard way about investing in one-sided energy.
Taking to Instagram, the reality star recounted a time four years ago when she was in a long-distance relationship with a man who lived on a different continent.
In an effort to prove her worth and support her partner, she would often order gifts and have them delivered to him, hoping to bring some cheer to his dark days.
However, to her disappointment, she never received the same treatment in return, not even on her birthdays.
Realizing the unhealthy dynamic she was participating in, she expressed her gratitude for ultimately realizing and breaking free from the “stupidity” she had invested in.
“Randomly thinking of the time I dated this man who lived on another continent and whenever he was feeling really down, right here from Nigeria, I’d order gifts and have them delivered to him just to cheer him up.
I never got this same treatment, not even on my birthday.
This was about 4yrs ago. I thank God for delivering me from stupidity,” she wrote.
