Prominent human rights advocate Funmi Falana, who is legally representing the family of the late singer, has explained the reasons behind their reluctance to submit their statements to the court.
She has shed light on this issue, regarding the ongoing inquest set up by the Lagos State government in response to public outcry and a formal request from Femi Falana, SAN’s law firm.
As a result, the Coroner’s court has summoned Rapper Naira Marley, Socialite Sam Larry, and Mohbad’s friend Primeboy to testify regarding their suspected involvement in the death of Mohbad.
They are expected to appear before the court on October 25, 2023.
In the initial police report on the investigation into Mohbad’s death, IPO Ajibola informed the coroner that there appeared to be no connection between Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse who administered an injection to Mohbad, and the other two suspects, Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
TVC shared a video report stating that Mrs. Falana stated in a public statement that Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi Aloba, and father, Joseph Aloba, have not yet given their official statements to the court registry, Lagos police command, or other relevant parties.
The reason for the delay is that they are still recovering from the shock and grieving the loss of their son.
Funmi Falana pledged to assist as a witness in the upcoming court hearing and support both the police and the court in their efforts to uncover the truth behind Mohbad’s death.
