The internet is abuzz with a trending video showing former Barcelona star Gerard Pique falling off a stage at an event.
Pique, who was in Mexico to launch the King League Americas, a new version of his seven-a-side competition, was engrossed in voice notes on his phone when he suddenly took a dramatic tumble off the stage.
According to reports, he was trying to approach a fan holding up a shirt when he unexpectedly plunged into a deep gap beside the stage, completely disappearing from sight due to his tall stature.
Thankfully, Pique emerged unharmed from the fall and even managed to make light of the incident, jokingly referring to it as a “magic trick” on social media.
Since the video went viral, fans of his ex-partner Shakira have been speculating that the fall was some form of revenge for their separation last year.
