Sheikh Jassim eyes Liverpool after withdrawing bid for Manchester United

Sheikh Jassim

According to reports, Sheikh Jassim of Qatar is contemplating the idea of purchasing Liverpool Football Club after his bid for Manchester United was withdrawn.

Sheikh Jassim had been pursuing complete ownership of Manchester United from the Glazer family for a year, but ultimately decided to withdraw from the race after being rejected.

This development comes as Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS and a devoted Manchester United supporter, is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire a 25% stake in the club, despite already owning Ligue 1 side Nice.

Sheikh Jassim, however, remains determined to achieve his goal of owning a Premier League club and is now allegedly considering making a bid for Liverpool, the arch-rivals of Manchester United.

It is worth noting that Fenway Sports Group, the current owners of Liverpool, openly expressed their willingness to entertain offers for the club in November of last year.

Furthermore, speculation suggests that a potential bid for Liverpool could be within Sheikh Jassim’s financial capacity, as he previously set aside around $8 billion (£6.57 billion) for this purpose.
