Imo Guber: PDP vows to resist attempt to rig polls

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to fiercely oppose any attempt by any political party to rig the November 11 governorship election in Imo state.

According to the PDP, all electoral indicators indicate that it would defeat the All Progressive Congress (APC) and win the election in Imo state.

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, told journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that Governor Hope Uzodimma and his party, the APC, would not have the support of the state’s population in the upcoming governorship election.

He said that the APC knows it does not have the people’s mandate, stressing that Governor Uzodimma has no visible organic support base in any part of Imo State.

He added that the governor had never won any election because he was detached from the people, including in his home, Orlu zone.

He noted, “The indicators are clear, and the November 11, 2023 election will not differ. Governor Uzodimma will not win in any polling unit in a free, fair and transparent election because Imo people have found a credible, sincere, humane and approachable leader in Senator Anyanwu.”
