Speed Darlington, a controversial singer, claims that Nigerian youths who have a luxurious lifestyle and spend extravagantly on women are involved in internet fraud, commonly known as Yahoo Yahoo.
The singer made this statement following the tragic death of a Uniport student who was allegedly murdered and dismembered by her boyfriend.
Pointing out how young men buy expensive phones as gifts to attract women, Speed Darlington emphasized that it would be highly unlikely for someone earning an honest income to be financially reckless in such a manner.
He also gave an example of how much time it would take for a transporter to earn N400K and explained why their priority would not be purchasing an expensive phone, but rather investing in a second vehicle.
“Everybody is doing Yahoo. That’s the only reason a guy can buy a lady a phone worth N400K just to lay with her. If the guy was an okada rider, do you have an idea how long it would take him to make that N400K? And even if he makes it, he will not think of buying a phone but buy another okada,” he stated.
